She is also an adjudicator for the Wireless Application Service Provider’s Association.

She specializes in contractual drafting, operational review, negotiation, regulatory law, mergers and acquisitions, internal reorganizations, software licenses, maintenance and support agreements and internet law.

Career

Sián completed her articles at Spiro, Slot & Sonnenberg Inc before going overseas to join LSI Logic Europe Ltd, the European headquarters of LSI Logic Corporation, a US based multinational. Whilst there, she gained extensive experience in drafting multi-jurisdictional commercial agreements.

On her return to South Africa, Sián set up a legal consultancy and consulted to a range of corporate clients including Woolworths (Pty) Ltd with whom she went on to accept a full time employment as a legal advisor managing their IT, franchise and supplier portfolios. Sián then joined MWEB as a Senior Legal Advisor in their Business Development Department managing their operational legal requirements and assisting with work throughout Africa.

Sián’s experience has resulted in her having a valuable ability to not only utilize her technical ability to apply the law correctly, but also her ability to assess both the commercial and legal risks together in order to obtain a commercial solution that operates as effectively as possible within the legal framework applicable and within the greater corporates strategy.

Sián resigned from MWEB in early 2009 and started her own legal consultancy where she consulted to a range of large corporates and law firms. In 2011, Sián joined Dingley Attorneys as a Consultant where she now offers commercial legal advice to a wide range of commercial entities.
