Occupational Health and Safety Training

Within any organisation, management, supervisors and employees have rights and responsibilities in terms of the Health and Safety laws to prevent diseases, injuries and death. Employers are obliged to ensure that employees understand and follow the correct procedures at all times. Penalties for non-compliance include fines and even imprisonment of the CEO, employer and assignees. In the circumstances it is imperative that these stakeholders understand the law and in particular the Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.

We are able to provide training tailored to the clients specific needs but we have previously provided training courses covering the following topics for our existing clients:

  1. Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations

    The purpose of this course is to provide stakeholders with an overview of the legislation and the regulations to ensure legal compliance. After attending this course the attendees will have a good working knowledge of the Act and the detail in the regulations that accompany the Act.

  2. Health and Safety Representatives training

    This course focuses on the specific requirements in the workplace for health and safety representatives in terms of the legislation and in particular focuses on:

    • Structure required in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
    • The duties of the health and safety representatives;
    • Health and Safety Committees and their responsibilities;
    • Actions required to address health and safety matters in the workplace.
  3. Management’s responsibility in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

    This course provides an overview into the requirements of the legislation and the consequences of non compliance. It will also address the minimum requirements of compliance and what controls should be put in place.

  4. Construction Regulations

    This course is aimed to provide the attendees with the knowledge to understand the Construction regulations and its requirements in order to ensure legal compliance in the workplace and on construction sites.
